The Steady quirk also reduces the Stress he takes from all sources, including transformation Stress, letting the Abomination fight safely for longer periods of time. When using an Abomination, the Restraining Padlock trinket is incredibly important, as it provides a substantial reduction in transform-induced Stress, allowing the player to use it with less penalty. At the end of each battle, a transformed Abomination will automatically revert, with the associated Stress relief to the party. The Abomination can only transform once per battle, back and forth each, and so players are inclined to use the Transformation only in emergencies - when the Abomination is in dire need of healing or they need a surge of damage immediately. This causes minor Stress relief in his companions and grants him access to Absolution for his own Stress relief, but saddles him with a SPD debuff. If the going gets tough, a transformed Abomination can revert to his human self. Slam should see occasional use due to it having unusual movement features for both the Abomination and its target, and is likely used to help nudge the Abomination out of position 3. Rage offers consistent single-target damage with a good range and CRIT chance, while Rake starts out weak but ramps up in damage for each use. The main two skills the transformed Abomination uses is Rake and Rage. Transforming does not consume the Abomination's turn, leaving him free to select an attack on that very same turn. Transforming induces a +8 Stress penalty to everyone else, and for each subsequent turn he remains transformed, the Abomination himself takes 6 Stress. He eschews his utility skills for raw damage output, but the transformation itself is stressful to both him and his companions. Transform causes the Abomination to unleash his inner monstrosity, healing the Abomination and supplying him with a boost to his DMG, SPD, and Blight resistance so long as he remains transformed. This factors into his main ability, Transform, and all its associated burdens. Absolution is a self-healing skill, though it is more for relieving Stress than physical self-heal. These attacks don't hit very hard, but allow the Abomination to function as a midline ranged support character. Thus, he always has his entire kit at his disposal, and upgrading the skill set of an Abomination as he levels up will be more costly than with most other heroes.Īs a human, the Abomination has two attacks that restrict him to positions 2 and 3 - Manacles makes for a good stun ability on anything between positions 1 to 3, while Beast's Bile is a good area-of-effect Blight skill. The Abomination is a highly unique class, with a different set of abilities for each of his two forms. "Find your core, hold fast to your convictions!" He also has a companion stress heal ability similar to the Jester’s Mockery. Most of the Abomination's camping skills grant him powerful buffs, but generally at the cost of extra stress for himself and/or his team, only his self speed buff doesn’t follow this rule. Any Buffs or lasting effects given from a camping skill lasts for 4 battles. Only 4 of these can be equipped at one time. Most heroes have three shared camping skills and all heroes have 4 unique camping skills (with the Flagellant being the exception, having only unique camping skills). They take a certain number of "respite" points to use, and can only be used once per camp (unless the skill says otherwise). Pulse-pounding self-buffs provide opportunities for even greater effectiveness in the next melee, while concentrating on suppressing his terrible impulses can alleviate some of the party's apprehension.Ĭamping skills are special skills heroes can use while they are camping. The Abomination spends his restful moments lost in the myriad symptoms of his condition. * Transform can be used twice in total, once to transform into Beast form and a second to transform back to the Human form. (All buffs and debuffs last for 3 rounds unless otherwise specified.) The Abomination will suffer 6 Stress for every turn he is in Beast form, not counting the turn he transforms. Additionally, he will return to Human form if he suffers an Affliction while in Beast form. If the Abomination is in Beast form when a battle ends, he automatically transforms back to Human form. Upon transforming back into Human form, Transform cannot be used again for the duration of the battle. Transforming into Beast form does not count as an action, allowing the Abomination to use Transform and another skill on the same turn. The Abomination has two different sets of abilities, which changes whenever he switches form using Transform. As his form changes, so too does his role in combat! The Eldritch poison coursing through his veins has given him unspeakable power, at a terrible cost. Beaten, branded and imprisoned for untold decades, this furtive vagrant hides a terrible secret.
